Nikwax Down Wash Direct – Optimized Cleaning for Down-Filled Gear

Nikwax Down Wash Direct is specially designed and optimized for down-filled gear. It is a highly effective cleaner that:

• Removes body oils and dirt from both the fabric and the down fill.
• Restores the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) of both the outer fabric and the down.
• Protects against rain and condensation, preventing the item from wetting out.
• Maintains the natural insulating properties of down.
• Revives breathability, allowing moisture vapor to pass through the item, optimizing performance in cold and damp conditions.

Prolongs the Life of Your Down Gear

Nikwax Down Wash Direct prolongs the effective life of your down clothing and equipment. It is the safe and effective way to thoroughly clean your gear. Using a washing machine ensures quick, easy, and thorough cleaning.

For sleeping bags and very large jackets, it is recommended to hand wash in a bath or equivalent and then spin dry in a washing machine.

Pre-Treatment and Care Instructions

• Use neat Down Wash Direct to treat stubborn stains before washing.
• Remove all non-washable parts.
• Shake well before use.
• Follow care label instructions.
• Do not use conventional detergents.

Machine Wash Instructions (for down clothing only):

1. Remove all detergent build-up from the detergent dispenser.
2. Place a maximum of 2 items in the washing machine.
3. Add 100 ml of Nikwax Down Wash Direct.
4. Wash according to the care label, preferably on a low setting with a slow spin.
5. After the washing cycle is complete, run multiple spin cycles, incrementally increasing the spin speed each time to remove excess water.
